Only recently have I found myself drawn to the colorful Mexican design blankets. I think what appeals to me the most is the colors and the simple, but decorative designs. I was really surprised by the weight of the Mazatlan blanket it weighs 4 pound. The weave of the acrylic fibers is a tight even weave. The colors are vivid and are woven throughout the blankets pattern as well as fringed edges. The colors are a soft beige color as the main background with stripes of black, dark green, green, yellow, orange, red, burgundy, purple, gray and blue. These colors are used all over the blanket in the various designs. The pattern is a diamond design which is hand woven. The pattern of the Mazatlan trade blanket style is inspired by the mid 19 century designs that we weaved from tribal patterns that combined with that of the Spanish Missionary patterns.

The woven blanket has a tapestry appearance and would look great hanging on any wall. The woven yarn is a nice thick loom spun blanket that will bring years of enjoyment no matter how you use it.

The size is large enough that it can fill the bottom of any size bed. Though, it would be perfect for a twin size bed as a bed covering. I would recommend the Mexican Mazatlan blanket.
