There is nothing like a hot summer day and an ice cold glass of tea. Though, the hotter the day the faster that perfect glass of ice tea begins to turn warm. I like to use insulated glasses, but I have find most of the plastic one begin to get fine cracks over time and just never look clean after a while. I was asked to sample a set of Ozeri Serafino Double Wall Insulated Beverage and Coffee Glasses which I found the concept of glass interesting so I was glad too test them.
The Ozeri Serafino insulated glasses hold approximately 12 ounces of liquid. These unique shaped glasses are made of heat and shatter resistant borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass does still break so do not think these glasses will never break. If the glass is placed in the freezer and you pour hot coffee in it the glass will break. The glass cannot take a drastic temperature change, but it can take slight temperature changes. Ozeri Serafino insulated glasses are stronger and more durable than most of the glass on the market today. Each of the glasses sport a wraparound contour that makes them easy to grip. The glasses are design to keep the heat and cold from your hands. These glasses also were designed to be free of condensation while you drink your chilled beverages.
The listing states that the glasses are dishwasher safe. I would not wash any of my glasses in the dishwasher due the etching, but the option is there. It also states they are microwave safe, which is nice for reheating a cup of coffee. The thing I like the most is that they can go into the freezer and then I can pour my tea or ice coffee into the cup then enjoy a frosty icy summer beverage. The patent is still pending on the double wall design of these glasses.
Overall, I found the Ozeri Serafino Double Wall Insulated Beverage to be well made. The glasses function as they should. The outer glass is slightly thinner and seems to be a little delicate. You want to make sure that you do not toss them into the sink. Though, I have had no issues. I like the idea of using the glass glasses since I do not have to worry about the BPA in the plastics or other chemical that can be found in the plastics. I also like that the glasses are clear it makes for a great presentation when placing them on the table for dinner. I tested the glasses in the freezer and microwave. In each test the glasses preformed as they were intended. The outside of the glass does have a slight temperature change when adding the different beverages, though nothing like a normal glass. Hot coffee is only slightly warm and ice cold tea is only slightly cold. Both of the temperature changes to the glasses were very comfortable to hold. I found that the beverages stayed hot or cold longer than when in other similar insulated cups. I found no irregularities or defects in the glasses. I am happy with the functionality and design of the Ozeri Serafino Double Wall Insulated Beverage. The Ozeri Serafino insulated cups can be purchased in a 2 or 4 pack. I would recommend the Ozeri Serafino Double Wall Insulated Beverage.
